The final competition of the figure skating season, World Team Trophy, is underway in Tokyo, Japan. Here’s the news round-up so far. The Women’s event has just finished with the final group of skaters in the Free Skate putting on great performances for an appreciative audience.
Haein Lee / 이해인 of South Korea put in two Personal Best performances to take the win. She definitely solidified her place on the Senior figure skating circuit with her wonderful World Team Trophy performances.

She was followed by current World Champion, Kaori Sakamoto / 坂本花織, in 2nd. Mistakes on the jump combos in both the Short and the Free skate likely cost Sakamoto the win. But, as always, she was powerfully entertaining.
Up-and-coming US figure skater, Isabeau Levito, took 3rd with two beautiful skating performances. We can’t wait to see how her skating evolves next season!

It was also great to see Yelim Kim / 김예림 (KOR) find her form again to finish in 4th, and hopefully that will set her up nicely for next season.
The Men’s and Pairs Free Skate takes place tomorrow.
