We have now entered the second half of the Chinese Interclub League, and Stage 4 is proving just as thrilling as the rounds before it. It’s truly such an exciting time for Chinese figure skating!
Here are some of the highlights from this stage:
Shiqi Gao Delivers Once Again
After winning the Junior segment back in Stage 2 in Harbin and earning her spot on the Junior Grand Prix, Shiqi Gao (高诗棋) continues to shine. This time taking gold in the Senior Women’s where she delivered a solid Short Program and a clean Free Skate. Shiqi has looked so confident in her skating this season, and she’s been really consistent too, which is great to see! Hopefully, she can keep up this momentum and strong form as the season progresses!
Shuxian Jin Takes a Risk and Lights Up the Arena
Shuxian Jin (金书贤) took second place in the Senior Women’s event and she made such an impression. In practice before the competition, she was spotted working on her triple axel and fans were eager to see if she’d try it during her program. And sure enough she went for it in the Free Skate! The crowd went wild when she attempted it and the atmosphere was electric. Although it was under-rotated, just like in practice, it was still great to see her go for it! Each try gets her closer, and it really feels like it’s only a matter of time before she fully rotates it.

Jiayou Liu Lands a 3A+2T combo at Just 9 Years Old
Speaking of triple axels, young rising star Jiayou Liu (刘珈佑) was back at it again in the Senior Men’s event. He’s caught the attention of many skating fans throughout the Interclub League with his daring triple Axel attempts. This time he landed an amazing 3A+2T combination and he’s only 9 years old! His skills, dedication, and determination are next level, especially for someone his age. Who knows what he’ll achieve next? He’s definitely a talent to watch out for!
