The Russian Grand Prix Figure Skating Final came to a close in Saint Petersburg over the weekend and featured fantastic performances from Adeliia Petrosian, Kamila Valieva and many others. This Grand Prix Final covered both senior and junior skaters, but we’ll just cover Senior scores here and Juniors in the next post.
Adeliia Petrosian sealed an impressive win with two great performances. All elements of her short program received positive GOEs with her Triple Axel scoring 10.40 points. Her Free Skate was packed with difficulty and included 4 Ultra C elements. Her highest scoring element was her 4T+2A+SEQ which received 15.84 points. She also landed a 4F, it is the first time she has landed this in competition. The judges gave her a slight downgrade on the 4T and 3A<. Petrosian’s spins were beautiful, as always, with all but one receiving a Level 4. Her overall winning score was 255.01 points.
Kamila Valieva finished in 2nd place after two much-improved performances as she recovers after illness & injury. Her triple axel was the only element marked down in her Short Program while her 3Lz+3T was her highest scoring SP element with 12.88 points. All her short programs spins were marked as Level 4. In the Free Skate Valieva’s highest scoring element was the 4T+2A+SEQ with an impressive 16.60 points. She also landed a quad toeloop which earned 13.30 points and her spins were all highly scored. It’s great to see Kamila on the comeback trail!

Elizaveta Tuktamysheva placed 3rd in the Grand Prix Final and has performed brilliantly this season, she just gets better and better with time. Her triple axel in the Short Program received a score of 10.56 points with her highest scoring elements in the Free Skate being the 3A+2A+SEQ 13.70 points and the 3Lz+3T combo 11.99 points. Only the 3A received a negative GOE in the Free Skate. Elizaveta really is on the rise at the moment!
The women’s skating competition also saw around 22 Ultra C element attempts. We’ll post a breakdown of these soon.
