Russian-Georgian figure skater, Morisi Kvitelashvili, announced his retirement from competitive figure skating via Instagram yesterday. It’s sad to see another talented and likeable figure leave the sport, especially one who is so well loved by his peers, but it has been great that we got to see Moris’ figure skating journey. He finished 2nd at the CS Finlandia Trophy in 2022, won gold at the Rostelecom Cup ’21-22 and has been a regular on the figure skating circuit, both internationally and in Russia, since the 2010-2011 season.

It’s a pity that his competitive skating journey has ended, but hopefully we’ll see him become part of Eteri Tutberidze’s coaching group. He has the perfect fun but disciplined personality for it! We’ll be keeping an eye on Moris’ Instagram and Youtube channel for further updates and we wish him the best for the future.
