Russian Pairs figure skaters Denis Khodykin and Daria Pavliuchenko have decided to end their partnership. Khodykin made the official announcement on his Instagram account writing: “Our journey, with @daria_pavlyuchenko, has come to an end. I am infinitely grateful to Dasha for these years of work. We have been through a lot together, ups, downs, injuries and triumphs.
After Dasha’s recovery from her injury, we talked and decided that working together in no longer possible. It was a difficult decision for us to make”.
Daria has suffered with injury in recent times, and this is something that appears to have affected this decision.
On a more upbeat note, Denis mentioned in his statement that he still loves figure skating and intends to keep skating:
“Skating is my life, I love skating and I enjoy it and the results. The last few months while I skated alone, I got a new look at figure skating and became more passionate about it.”
